Harvard Summer School in Korea Program Application-- is due Thursday, January 25, 2018 Info and the online application via the Harvard Summer School Website: https://www.summer.harvard.edu/study-abroad/seoul-south-korea

The themes for this summer will be a Korean cinema course which explores modern Korean culture and history through Korea’s groundbreaking cinema and learning Korean language. Guidance for the budget for this program is on the Harvard Summer School webpage listed under “COST” then "Student Budget" towards the bottom of that webpage. Summer Internship Program in Korea (8 Weeks) for a few Harvard undergraduates is due-- Monday Feb. 5, 2018

Summer Language Study Grants at Ewha (Tuition Waivers) for Harvard Undergraduates are due-- Monday, February 5, 2018

See the Ewha website http://summer.ewha.ac.kr/ for more details on the co-ed Ewha International Summer College Program & further info on costs. This Ewha Language Grant covers academic fees and tuition only. The Korea Institute (KI) will cover your economy non-refundable airfare. However, students are responsible for all dorm, meal & living expenses. One of the two recommendation letters should be from a language instructor utilizing the Korea Institute Summer Language Grants Instructor Reference found attached.The other letter of recommendation may be from your faculty advisor, a faculty member who knows you well, or your House Tutor.

KI Scholarship to SNU ISI Program (Seoul National University-International Summer Institute) (Tuition Waiver) The application deadline is due: Monday, February 5, 2018. This opportunity is only for Harvard undergraduates. In partnership with SNU ISI, the Korea Institute will award one scholarship (full tuition waiver, dorm and airfare) to one Harvard undergraduate in any concentration to attend the SNU ISI Summer Session 2018. This scholarship will cover tuition, application and field trip fees, dormitory costs, and round-trip airfare (economy class, non-refundable, up to $1800). Students are still responsible for meals and general living expenses. Seoul National University (SNU) is one of Korea’s foremost universities. Summer Research Travel Grants to Korea for Harvard Undergraduates are due-- Monday, February 5, 2018
Full details at: http://korea.fas.harvard.edu/korea-institute-summer-research-travel-grants-undergraduate Korea Institute Undergraduate Summer Travel Grants are awarded to Harvard undergraduates in the humanities or social sciences to use in Korea for research and/or field work relating to a senior honors thesis in an area of Korean studies. Typically, the amount of the award is limited to the cost of travel in the research project. Undergraduate applicants must have at least two years of Korean language training or equivalent proficiency in the language.

KI Scholarship Funding for Harvard Summer School in Seoul, Korea Program is due: Jan. 25, 2018. The Korea Institute offers limited scholarships to undergraduate students who need additional financial assistance to attend the Harvard Summer School-Korea program. Students on financial aid are given priority. Awards are made in consultation with the Office of Career Services. This application is NOT done via CARAT and there is no 'official' form. Instead, please submit a budget sheet, along with a written statement of financial need (about a few paragraphs/one page). The budget sheet should include program cost, sources and amount of income, and an itemized budget. Please be very clear as to the final dollar amount you are requesting. The statement should describe why you/your family need this scholarship for you to attend this program. This statement is very important, as you will need to differentiate yourself/your needs from the other student applicants applying for the same scholarship. You may apply (and possibly receive) funding from both the Korea Institute and the Office of Career Services. This KI Scholarship for HSS Application is due at same time as the HSS-Korea Program Application is due: Jan. 25, 2018.
