# Statement on Anti-Asian Discrimination, Racism, and Violence

April 08, 2021

The Korea Institute, alongside Harvard’s Asia-related departments, institutes, and centers, stands in solidarity with the Asian and AAPI communities in condemning violence and harassment wherever they are taking place. Sadly, these recent incidents are part of a long history of scapegoating and discrimination against foreign and immigrant communities. As such, we denounce them along with other racial injustices wherever and whenever they occur.

The Korea Institute reaffirms its [unambiguous commitment](/statement-harassment-discrimination) to the policy and practice of zero tolerance of discrimination and harassment based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation.
