Congratulations to Our Two New Fulbright Fellowship Awardees!

A very big Congratulations to our two students, Mr. John Song Lee and Ms. Chelsea Carlson, who have both been awarded the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Awards!

Mr. John Lee is a G3, PhD candidate in EALC Department at Harvard. He will be using the Fulbright fellowship to continue research on his Ph.D. dissertation, entitled "Protect the Pines, Punish the People: Forest Conservation and its Consequences in Choson Korea, 1392-1895."In the fall semester '13, he will be studying with Chun Young-woo, an expert on pre-modern Korean forestry at Kookmin University in Seoul. I spent two months of this summer in Seoul.  Thanks to Korea Institute’s generous research grants in previous years, as well as the current one, I went to Seoul with high familiarity.  My visits in the summers of 2008 and 2011 prepared me well for this research trip.  I navigated through the ins and outs of Seoul like a local.  I had a very comfortable stay in Seoul and returned to Cambridge deeply missing its connectivity and efficiency.
