I had an incredibly meaningful summer interning at CJ ENM. Although I have visited Korea before, this was the longest time I have spent here and my first time working at a company outside the U.S. As someone striving to pursue a more creative career, I found the opportunity to work in the International Film Production Team, gain exposure to the industry on a larger scale, and improve my language skills an invaluable experience that taught me both hard and soft skills.  
  
On a day-to-day basis, I would exchange emails and in-person communication with my team, catch up on relevant news, and get to know my amazing co-workers outside the office through group lunches, dinners, and coffee chats. I also had the chance to read scripts in both English and Korean, write coverage and feedback, shadow team meetings, and submit research reports on current industry trends. More broadly, living and working in Seoul for several months helped me gain firsthand experience with daily life in the city and connect more deeply with my roots as a Korean-American. My internship culminated in an IP presentation I pitched, which was extremely helpful in gaining a more nuanced perspective on the creative process and exchanging ideas with the team.  
  
Throughout my time at CJ ENM, I could not be more grateful for the constant support of my mentors, peers, the Talent Acquisition Team, the Harvard Korea Institute, and everyone else who made this unforgettable experience possible. This internship deepened my passion for the industry, challenged me to think and create in new ways, and allowed me to get to know so many talented people. As I continue to learn and expand my worldview, I’m beyond appreciative of this opportunity to refine my interests, learn from dedicated professionals, and grow as a creative individual.
