# Celebration of the Twentieth Anniversary of the Ewha Harvard Summer School Program August 13, 2026 ![Group Photo 20th Anniversary Ewha Harvard Summer School Event](/sites/g/files/omnuum10896/files/styles/hwp_16_9__480x270/public/2026-08/EWH_6061Rsz1.jpg?itok=P_lUCIuU) The 20th anniversary of the Harvard Summer School in Seoul, Korea (2006 - 2026) was celebrated on July 22, 2026 at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. This unique 8-week summer study abroad program in partnership with the Harvard Korea Institute and Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea, is a Harvard faculty-led program emphasizing experiential learning in Korea, with joint enrollment of Harvard and Korean students as classmates and language partners, and academic and cultural framing activities. The anniversary event was attended by former and current students, faculty, staff and supporters with the keynote speech given by Dr. Eun Mee Kim, Professor Emerita, former Dean, former President, and Chairperson of Ewha Womans University, who co-founded the program with Professor Carter Eckert (1945 – 2024), Yoon Se Young Professor Emeritus of Korean History and former Director of the Harvard Korea Institute.
