Dr. Kim received her PhD from Kyungpook National University in 1996 and has published numerous articles in journals such as Hanguk Kodaesa Yŏngu. She is a specialist on Koguryŏ and is currently Team Leader of the No. 2 Research Lab at the Northeast Asian History Foundation, Seoul.
