"An American professor is promoting Korean literature in the U.S. David McCann, a professor of Korean literature and the director of the Korea Institute at Harvard University, is teaching his students how to write sijo, a traditional three-line Korean poetic form, reciting them in local festivals, and holding sijo competitions for middle and high school pupils. The 65-year-old professor is currently revising an anthology called "Urban Temple: Sijo, Twisted & Straight," containing some 60 sijo-style poems written in English that he composed in remembrance of his two years spent as an English teacher at Andong Life Science High School in the mid-1960s as a member of the Peace Corps...."
