Asia Center Graduate Summer Research Grants (For Multiple Country/Comparative Projects)

Asia Center Graduate Summer Research Grants (For Multiple Country/Comparative Projects)
Date of Deadline: Please see the Asia Center Website

Note for AY23-24: Please note that all support related to travel is contingent upon Harvard University guidelines and safety protocols before, during and after travel. Please see the following sites for the most up-to-date guidance: Harvard Travel Guidance and Harvard GSS COVID-19 travel advice.

These grants support graduate students conducting research over the summer. Research must look at two or more countries of East, South, and Southeast Asia comparatively or explore the relations among Asian countries. Individual country topics will be considered only for Southeast Asian countries or if they are part of broader, multi-country research. This multi-country context must be made explicit in the application.

Please note that some grants may be supported by funds with special conditions that will be made clear in the award letter. These may include attending donor-related events or making a brief visit to a partner institution during the funded activity period.

Grant recipients are required to submit a written report upon their return that may be used by the Asia Center online and in printed materials.

Grants are open to students who will be returning to Harvard for at least one semester following the funded activity. Students must be in good standing at the time of funding.

Applicants should apply online via CARAT, under the Asia Center's listings,  https://carat.fas.harvard.edu/ by their deadline. Please see the Asia Center website for more information.
